
The Sunyani Municipal Assembly in the Bono Region has unanimously confirmed Vincent Antwi Agyei as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) with 100% of the total valid votes cast. This confirmation came during a special Assembly meeting held on 10th April, 2025 at the Assembly Hall.
Prior to Mr. Antwi Agyei's confirmation, Mr. Abdulai Abdul-Razak, Assembly Member for Yawhima electoral area was sworn in as the Presiding Member (PM) by Supervising High Court Judge Justice Gabriel Mate-Teye. Mr. Abdul-Razak garnered 86.27% of the votes cast to secure the position. Fourteen (14) government appointees were sworn in by Circuit Court Judge His Lordship Sylvester Nii-Okine Ablorh.
The Bono Regional Minister Mr. Joseph Addae Akwaboah Esq. congratulated both Hon. Antwi Agyei and Hon. Abdul-Razak on their victories, urging them to work tirelessly for the municipality's growth and development. He also encouraged assembly members to support the MCE in implementing the government's development agenda.
The MCE, Hon. Vincent Antwi Agyei thanked the Assembly Members for their unanimous vote and called for unity and cooperation to drive development in Sunyani Municipality. He was advised by the Regional Minister to maintain an open-door policy to foster collaborative development efforts.
Hon. Abdul-Razak expressed his heart felt gratitude for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work towards the municipality's progress.
The meeting was attended by notable figures, including Nana Kwaku Sarbeng Ababio II, Acting President of the Sunyani Traditional Council. This unanimous confirmation marks a significant step in the leadership and development of Sunyani Municipality.
